Energy systems designed for real operations

We integrate technical analysis, commercial viability, supply and execution coordination across storage, solar PV, ShorePower and microgrids.

OUR APPROACH

One method. Four energy architectures.

We concentrate on the decisions that make an energy project executable: reading the site, setting the operating objective, coordinating engineering, choosing equipment and suppliers, and structuring a viable path to execution.

The photographs below show sector technology. They are not Newman projects or client sites.

Energy storage

Flexibility where the grid and the operation need it.

We start from the load profile, the constraints of the site and the operating result it has to deliver. Then we size the batteries, the power conversion and the controls together with the generation and the grid, because moving one of them moves the rest. The result is a storage architecture that holds up technically and commercially.

WHAT WE COORDINATE

  • Use-case definition and operating strategy.
  • Energy and power sizing.
  • Integration of BESS, PCS, EMS and protection systems.
  • Review of safety, degradation, warranties and life cycle.
  • Coordination with solar PV, microgrids and interconnection.

Solar PV

Generation designed from the demand.

We size each photovoltaic system from the electrical, physical and commercial conditions of the site: the solar resource, the consumption profile, the connection point and the return the investment has to produce. A larger array is not always the right answer. We compare scenarios and balance output, reliability and integration with the operation already running on site.

WHAT WE COORDINATE

  • Site, solar resource and consumption-profile assessment.
  • Concept design and scenario comparison.
  • Selection of modules, inverters, structures and protection systems.
  • Electrical integration and interconnection criteria.
  • Supply, installation and performance planning.

ShorePower

Port energy with safe electrical integration.

ShorePower supplies vessels from land-based electrical infrastructure while they remain at berth. We size transformation and protection from the terminal's peak demand, match the connection to the voltage and frequency each vessel uses, and phase the work so the berth keeps operating. Control logic and operational safety govern every connection and disconnection.

WHAT WE COORDINATE

  • Load, voltage and frequency characterization.
  • Transformation, distribution and protection design.
  • Connection systems and cable management.
  • Assessment of the impact on the port grid.
  • Potential integration with local generation and storage.
  • Phased planning to protect operational continuity.

Microgrids

Resilience coordinated across generation, storage and control.

We design architectures that coordinate the grid, distributed generation, storage and priority loads. The continuity, autonomy and efficiency the site needs set the shape of the system. That includes the control logic that switches between grid-connected and islanded operation, when the design allows islanding.

WHAT WE COORDINATE

  • Identification and prioritization of critical loads.
  • Modeling of resources and energy flows.
  • Architecture for generation, storage and backup.
  • Control strategy through an EMS or microgrid controller.
  • Protection, mode transition and system recovery.
  • Modular design for future growth.

PROJECT REFERENCE FILES

From sector capability to a documented project reference.

The records below come from the project collection and stay references until Newman approves them for publication. Each public case must state the context, the energy need, the solution, Newman's scope and results we can demonstrate.

START WITH THE SITE

Every project begins with a different operating need.

Let's review the site, the demand and the operating objectives. From there we can identify a viable technical and commercial path.
